Cakes for Special Occasions

 I f you want a fancy homemade cake that IS a homemade cake, well you've come to the right place.  My cakes make wonderful centerpieces for all occasions.  And they taste great!   I've been baking and decorating cakes for over 15 years.  The cakes are made from tried and true recipes, using only the finest, freshest ingredients. I am not a factory, I make cakes the way my grandma, who was a famous New England cake baker, made them long ago, one batch at a time. 

My cakes come in all flavors and shapes and are ideal for all occasions, including weddings, birthdays, showers, anniversaries, and graduations.   They can be small customized cakes or large party cakes.  If you ask anyone who has tasted one of my cakes, they will tell you they are the best they've ever tasted.   One of my customers said they are not cakes they are "works of art."   I make every effort to make just the cake for you.  They are not mass-produced. You are paying for customized design with prices determined by the complexity of the design. Prices are reasonable and start at $20.

My name is Melinda Canney and I own my own cake making business in Milo, Maine.   I learned how to make fancy cakes from my grandmother, Nellie Pritchett, who for many years ran the world-famous Pritchett School of Master Cake Decoration, a subdivision of  Wilton Industries.
